“I love this thing.  I am a big catfisherman, and knowing how hard

it is to hook a cat, this has worked really well.

It increased my catch 100%.”

Catfishing with a SNAP'r:

Catfish are the most widespread species of fish in the world.  Found on every continent except Antarctica, chances are you or someone you know fishes for them.

Common baits used to catch the whiskered fish range from live or cut up bait fish to homemade dough baits.  And with more olfactory sensors than any other freshwater fish, it’s no wonder that your bait’s scent, and the dispersion of that scent, play a key roll in your catfish-catching success.

The SNAP’r is perfect for catfishing.  It’s built in Chum Strip absorbs and releases any type of fish attractant, especially blood, for a much larger scent dispersion and will actually increase the amount of bites you receive on any given fishing excursion.  With the SNAP’r more bites means more hook-ups, and more hook-ups always means more fish.

When catfishing, SNAP’rCO recommends using a Carolina rig, it’s simple to tie and easy to cast.  We usually go with a 10-20lb mainline, threaded through a 3/4oz – 2oz sliding egg sinker, and tied directly to the pointed end of the SNAP’r.  Then we’ll run a 12”-18” long leader from the clip on the SNAP’r to a #2 circle hook*.

Bait your hook, cock the SNAP’r, and cast it out to a likely spot.  Then secure your rod and tighten up the slack in your line.  And when Ol’ Mister Whiskers shows up and tries to swim away with your bait, the SNAP’r will trigger automatically. Now he’s hooked and you’ve got a fish on.

Be sure to secure your rod well, because a pole simply leaned against a rock or tackle box may disappear when a big fish is hooked.

*The hook size and leader length/diameter may vary depending on the bait used and the shyness of the fish in your area. If you don’t already know, the easiest way to determine what to use, is to simply ask someone at the local bait & tackle shop and see what the norm for that fishery is.
